Squirrels and Woodland Management
Grants
for forest management and grey squirrel control are available from the
Forestry Commission, under their Woodland Grants Scheme (WGS). 50% additional
money for rope bridges, road signs, viewing hides and interpretation information
to a level of £10,000 (ie. total cost £20,000) can be obtained through
their Woodland Improvement Grant (WIG), as part of a complete management
plan.
There may also be other sources of grant aid available in certain locations
in the north west. Contact the
Conservation Officer for further information.
